LOCAL FIRM MAKES ONTO THE PROFIT HOT 50 LIST OF CANADA’S EMERGING GROWTH COMPANIES

Kamloops, BC –Voda Computer Systems Ltd., located in Kamloops and Kelowna with satellite offices in Penticton and Grand Forks, has been named to the PROFIT HOT 50 by Profit: Your Guide to Business Success Magazine. Ranking #41, the company received the recognition for achieving a 144 percent growth in sales between 2002 and 2004.

Voda Computer Systems Ltd., is one of the leading suppliers of computer hardware, networks and related services in Southern British Columbia, has shown consistent, steady growth since its start-up in 2001. The company’s core business focuses on helping mid-sized organizations to select, procure and implement industry-leading information technologies.

Andrew Watson and Mark Zienowicz, Voda Computer Systems Ltd. founding partners, say they are ecstatic about the recognition the company is receiving.

“It’s quite an honour for a relatively small town company to make it onto the PROFIT HOT 50 list,” says Watson. He says the recognition reinforces that the company is doing the right things in the industry.

“Our strategy has always been to treat every customer request, whether it’s a small or large client, as though it’s urgent,” says Watson. “We decided from the beginning to always have an extra technician available to respond to client needs right away. We’ve also developed a speciality for being able to understand our clients’ information technology issues and assist them to implement innovative products that help their businesses to grow. It’s a strategy that works.”

One example is Voda Computer System’s involvement in information lifecycle management (ILM) since it first emerged on the Canadian IT scene. The company has worked with organizations such as the Interior Health Authority, Telus and other large clients to implement ILM processes that migrate and archive data to less expensive media such as SATA Disk, DVD, or tape while still maintaining access to information.

“The process translates into significant savings on high availability, high price storage devices,” says Zienowicz. “The management component of the ILM also allows companies to archive data in an exact method which complies with all of the newest data regulations coming out of the US.”

Watson and Zienowicz accepted the PROFIT Hot 50 honour on behalf of the company’s 30 employees. “It’s been an exceptional three and a half years and we owe our success to the people on our team. Everyone here has had a hand in helping Voda succeed,” says Zienowicz. Furthermore he also states that Voda Computer System’s growth is evidence that companies don’t have to be located in a large metropolitan centre to achieve phenomenal growth. “No matter where you are and what business you are in, you can make your company grow. All you need is the right drive, the right people and the right goals.”

Voda Computer Systems is featured in the September 2005 issue of Profit: Your Guide to Business Success Magazine. Watson and Zienowicz will attend Profit’s Growth Camp, an exclusive three-day summit for PROFIT HOT 50 CEOs.
