Q: Should a computer be shut down when not in use?

A: Most computers have a sleep mode, the computer can be set to sleep after a certain amount of time with no use. However, energy is still being used. When a computer is shut down it also performs certain tasks, many of them enable the computer to operate more efficiently. Programs run faster and regular freezes can be eliminated by shutting down the computer on a regular basis.

I would recommend shutting it down, here is why. When you leave your computer on all night and all day it collects dust and wears down your computer, so its most likely to crash more.
